About the Role

On behalf of Huawei Technologies, a global leader in ICT infrastructure, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Civil Engineer to join our Fixed Network Deployment team in Chile. This is a foundational role where you will be instrumental in building the physical backbone of Chile's digital future. You will ensure the successful deployment of Fiber-to-the-Inicio (FTTH) and FTTx networks by overseeing all civil works, from design validation to on-site construction and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Civil Works Supervision & Quality Control: Lead and supervise all on-site civil construction activities for FTTx projects, including trenching, conduit installation, chamber and foundation construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
  • Technical Design Review & CAD Management: Review, validate, and create detailed technical designs and CAD drawings based on site survey reports. Ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and optimized for the local terrain and soil conditions.
  • Material & Contractor Management: Coordinate the logistics of construction materials, manage relationships with civil contractors, and oversee their work to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are met.
  • Site Surveys & Technical Reporting: Conduct thorough site surveys to assess feasibility, identify potential risks, and prepare detailed technical reports that inform the project's civil design and execution plan.
  • Compliance & Standards Enforcement: Ensure all civil works adhere to Huawei's global quality standards, national building codes, and specific project requirements. Conduct inspections for concrete quality, structural verticality, and other critical parameters.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of hands‑on experience in civil works for telecommunications projects (FTTx, cellular sites) or in general civil construction with exposure to structural design.
  • Proven skill in reading, interpreting, and creating technical designs and CAD drawings. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software is required.
  • Practical knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and standard quality inspection procedures for civil structures (concrete testing, verticality checks).
  • Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage contractors, timelines, and resources effectively in a field environment.
  • A results‑driven, problem‑solving attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across Chile.
