An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified specialist practitioner within the community nursing service in the Inverness West Community team, NHS Highland.
This is permanent band 6 post as per agenda for change. The post holder will be required to work across Inverness West Community Team and can be asked to cover other caseloads within the area. Weekend working and variable shift pattern is required on a flexible rotational basis.
The post holder will have a Specialist Practice Nursing Qualification in District Nursing or working as a trainee District Nurse. (Preferred qualification is a MSc cert in DN advancing practice, although Pg Cert in Integrated Community Nursing will be acceptable).
It is desirable that you have some experience in leading/managing a team and also caseload management. You must be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate an ability to work with different professional groups. It is desirable that the successful applicant be able to develop an interest in quality improvement work and change management. They should also have good awareness of national policies and a willingness to take an active lead in the implementation of these polices locally.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post. The qualified post holder will be based at either Inverness RNI or Beauly and will be accountable for managing a defined caseload and prioritise the needs of individuals and practice population.
A full driving licence is essential and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes. All applicants should be registered with the NMC.
The post holder will be supporting the development of the Enhance Community Service in being part of the Decision making Team, facilitate hospital discharges and support patient in their Inicio prevent hospital admissions.
